Finding Mr George – The True Story Behind Concrete Paws

This is where grief became purpose — and Concrete Paws began

Why This Page Exists

This page isn’t just where you can read my book for free — it’s where you’ll understand why I started Concrete Paws. It all began with one dog. My George.

Back in 2018, George went missing. And when I say my world fell apart, I mean it. Losing a pet is traumatic enough — but when people look at you like you’re mad for being devastated, it makes it even harder.

People didn’t understand why I was searching every single day.
George wasn’t just a dog. He was my baby.
(In fact, I even created a paw just for that:

It’s true, not everyone thinks that way — but it only takes one person saying “it’s just a dog” to crush you.

What broke me wasn’t just the loss. It was the not knowing.
Was he injured? Cold? Hungry?
The fear was constant, and it was destroying me.

Before I explain how the paws began, here’s a short video to give you a glimpse into what I went through.

🐾 From Heartbreak to Concrete

After weeks of searching, I built a remembrance garden for George. I called it George’s Garden. I needed a path leading to it — but I couldn’t find the right slabs anywhere in Spain. So… I started making my own.

A few months later, I thought:
“What if I could make one just for him? A personal tribute?”
That’s when I started researching how to print on concrete.
And I never looked back.

💛 Why I Keep Going

I love this business. I love making something that helps other people heal. Seeing the joy, the tears, the gratitude when someone receives their paw — that’s everything to me.

If you ever need someone to talk to — about your pet, their behaviour, or your grief — I’m here. You can book a 30-minute video call:

Because I get it.

I didn’t just lose George.
I also lost my little Kev — killed instantly by another dog.
I lost Harry — he died under anaesthetic during a routine castration.

And today, I have 7 dogs. My oldest is Steve — he’s 16, deaf as a post, and giving me more cuddles than ever. I treasure every one.

It’s more than concrete. It’s a piece of my heart — and maybe it can be a piece of yours too.
