Without all the love and support from my friends, my family and the amazing new people that came into my life, I don’t know that it would have been possible for me to have coped throughout my nine-week journey.

The strength that even total strangers gave me is something that I will always appreciate more than they will ever know.

Sadly William, the very supportive man that began sharing every Facebook post that I wrote, with the comment: “Sharing for Mr George.” passed away a few weeks after I found George’s body. I never got to meet or to thank him. He always said how proud he was of me, and my tribute to him is naming my book: Finding Mr George.

My beautiful little ring catcher Kev has also passed. He was tragically killed on the 18th of September 2021.

Towards the end of 2018, I decided I needed to put all my energy into helping other dogs, as with the loss of my George, I was still feeling lost within myself, yet I knew I had it in me to try.

It began again, with rescue and love

I fostered a little girl, her name is now Jess and living in a wonderful loving home with Diana, a wonderful lady that has become a very dear friend to me.

Next came Mum (yes, a silly name, but what else do you call a mother of eight babies). Eight tiny puppies all sucking away on mum with their eyes still closed. All eight puppies survived. I named them: Rolo, Whisper, Bounty, Milkyway, Malteser, Flake, Kit-kat and Crunchie. They are all now living in their new forever homes.

Then it was little Harry; oh, so cute, he had three working legs, and his fourth leg basically was deformed, and it would dangle as he ran on his three working legs. Sadly, he died on the 8th of May 2019.

A week later, the drain-pipe puppies came into my life; they were found not far from me living in a drain pipe. I named them Jeffery, Bruce, Zoe and Scarlet. Bruce is now in his new forever home not far from me, and I kept Zoe and Scarlet; however, Jeffery sadly passed on the 18th of May 2019.

Lastly, the two Ronnies, they found me. Each night they came to my gate. On the second night, I let them in. Thankfully, my wonderful friends, Kate and Caroline, realized that I just wasn’t strong enough to foster anymore, and they came within three days to take them for me. They sat with the two Ronnies and me for an hour as we were all so concerned as these two beautiful happy boys were now about to start the next part of their journey in life. Yes, I cried as they left, and it took me two weeks to get over it. I am so happy to say that Kate and Caroline organized the passports for the two Ronnies, and they were rehomed into a loving family.

I can’t explain as too how much I admire all the people in the world that give up their time to foster animals as I just am not strong enough to continue fostering.

I want to say one last thank you to everyone and hope that if just one person will stop for an animal, lost or abandoned and start the process of helping them, that my book was so worth writing.
