Chapter 32 : Kerry Arrives

Kerry Arrives (Chapter 32)

Shopping lists, nerves, and waiting for Kerry’s flight

I am up, and I have 9 hours until I have to collect Kerry, so it started stripping the sofa time and wash the lot, go shopping and shampoo all the boys. The thing that took me the longest was actually writing the shopping list.

She lands at 9pm, so we will be home by 9:45pm. She is still on a diet due to the wedding,,,,,,, hhhhhmmmm nibbles maybe
Friday: no clue
Saturday: no clue
Sunday: no clue

My list so wasn’t going well. So, I decided to go without a list and just wing it.

“Mum,” messaged Kerry. She cracks me up how she just types that. “Yes, darling,” I replied. “When you go shopping today can you get some cakes and then tomorrow I will go to the lady’s house that took the photo of George, it will give me an excuse to get in then hopefully I can put your mind at rest that she doesn’t have him,” she typed. Kerry had always had doubt as to if she did have George, so I think she needed to actually do this for herself also.

“Good plan,” I said.

Obviously, I forgot the cakes, so I messaged Kerry, “Darling, I forgot the bloody cakes; I can’t go out again, so we will get them in the morning,” I typed. “Don’t worry, mum, I will buy a box of chocolates at the airport,” she replied. “Don’t bloody eat them,” I said. “As if I would do that, mother,” she replied.

Cleaning, memories, and George’s absence

Shopping done, sofa all clean I then decided to wash all my bedding, I haven’t slept in it for coming up to 5 weeks now, I actually believed that with Kerry being here that she could sleep in my bed with me instead of in the spare room. It’s a king-size bed, so no chance of bum touching in the night.

George had slept with me on the Saturday night before he went missing, so this was actually hard for me to do. Not as hard as if it had of been a human, there was no sniffing the pillow, yet it did make tears roll down my cheeks.

“Mum,” Kerry typed, “Yes, darling,” I replied. “There is an airstrike in France, so my flight might be cancelled; if it isn’t cancelled, I am going to be delayed,” she typed. “Obviously,” I messaged. Then she called, and we spoke and actually laughed.

Our Julie then messaged me as to how she had written another Facebook post, and I then decided to write another one: “I will never give up.”

I admit today has been a very difficult day, putting up poster after poster, each time seeing my George’s face his body and then saying to myself, we didn’t realise that these photos of George were going to be used for “Missing George posters.”

It took 4 weeks to discover that George was put into a van, lets pray it doesn’t take another 4 weeks to find him.

This so isn’t about me, it’s about George, George is waiting for us to find him and we will find him.

Hope, faith, and reunion at last

I am such a strong person, and my family and friends mean the world to me, George is part of my family, and I will never give up on him; everything happens for a reason and for me, it’s been amazing kindness and generosity of people that I don’t know or have never met.

However, why has this happened to George????? This has made me question my beliefs, but it will never stop me from finding my George. George, hold tight; mummy will find you. I love you to the moon and stars and back. xxxxx

Posted, and there it was again the first share, shared for Mr George.

“Mum,” Kerry typed, “Yes, darling,” I replied. “My flight isn’t cancelled, but I am sitting on the plane now, and apparently we have to sit here for 2 hours as there is no take-off slot.” “Oh darling, you poor sod, message as soon as you land, and I will be there, I have made us a buffet, and I promise not to start until you get here,” LOL. “Mum, please don’t eat it all,” she typed, “As if my darling,” I replied.

Then I hurried into the kitchen. I opened the fridge and stood there staring; I mean, I now needed to pull a buffet out of the bag.

“Mum,” Kerry typed, “Yes, darling,” I replied. “I have just landed,” she typed. “On the way,” I replied. I was about to collect my daughter. It was now 11:15pm, so hopefully, we would be home before 12:30am. Kerry has always gone up and down with her weight, yet now because of her wedding, she had seriously lost a lot. As I got out of the car and hugged her, my arms went all the way round her body. It was the most amazing feeling to have her with me, uuffff the talking in the car all the way home was nonstop.

“Look, mum, I didn’t eat the chocolates. Did you eat the buffet?” she said. “As if,” I replied. “Oh mum, you did, didn’t you?” she said. “Wait and see,” I replied.

We were now home chomping into cold pizza, crisps and a jar of pickles. We started planning our day for tomorrow. It was so lovely to have someone, a part of me basically thinking the exact same as me. I think that Kerry was the only person in the world that actually understood how I was never going to give up.

“Night, mum, you coming up in a minute?” said Kerry. “In a minute, darling, I just need to answer a couple of emails,” I lied.

OK, so I never went to bed, yet wow, I know I slept like a beast as when I woke up my mouth was so dry, I must have been snoring so much as seriously my mouth was so dry and there was even gunk on the roof of my mouth.
